Pre Ballet:

For beginning students age 3-5. This class teaches ballet basics as well as creative movement techniques. Classes will have no more than ten students with a teacher and an assistant.

Tap I:

For beginning students age 3-5. This class teaches basic tap technique as well as rhythm and coordination skills. Classes will have no more than ten students with a team of two instructors who will each be present at all times.

Ballet:

A formal discipline of dance characterized by grace and precision.

Tap:

Tap classes will teach classic tap “Broadway “ technique as well as rhythm and hoofing techniques.

Jazz:

Stylized dancing based on many other forms of dance originally influenced by American jazz music. Classes will include classic jazz techniques as well as some hip hop.

Lyrical:

A contemporary style of dance which combines ballet and jazz techniques. Lyrical dance is very expressive and usually characterized by slower, contemporary music.

Pointe:

Ballet technique in Pointe shoes where dancers are literally on their toes. Dancers must have several years of ballet training and must receive instructors approval.

Hip Hop: The work out will be tough, but a great deal of fun! As with all classes at Turning Pointe, no explicit lyrics or themes will be used, ages 8 and up.
Musical Theatre: Learn basics of musical theater which include acting, vocal technique, and dance. Participate in two productions during the year, as well as the year-end recital. ages 8 -adult.

Liturgical:

An expressive dance used in worship services to interpret the lyrics of a song. This class is open to dancers and non-dancers, ages 8 – adult.
